For us, institutional support is critical and we look forward to your participation as we join hands to bring about change.
Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is an integral part of corporate ethos today with Section 135 of the Indian Companies Act, 2013 making it mandatory for corporates to spend 2% of their net profits on CSR.
By making Sukarya your CSR partner, you would be serving community needs in a personalised and transparent manner.
Sukarya has been working for over two decades in the states of Delhi, Haryana and Rajasthan. It has followed a holistic and sustainable approach to draw attention to issues related to underprivileged women and children, with special focus on anemia and malnutrition.
Sukarya’s core areas of work are:
- Maternal Child Health Nutrition (MCHN+A) & Adolescent Health
- Gender Equality
- Non-Formal Education for slum children
- Empowering women and making them self reliant
- Integrated Rural Development by creating Model Villages
The organisation has worked closely with communities to identify issues of concern and provide services and support to uplift and empower them. It has provided non-formal education to slum children (6 to 14 years) who have never been to school before, bringing fully equipped modern mobile schools to their doorstep. It has educated, empowered and skilled adolescent girls (11 to 19 years) under the Gender Equality programme so they can protect and secure themselves and lead a life of dignity. It has mobilised rural women through SHGs by guiding and training them on revenue generating activities like grinding, processing and packaging spices, cereals and pickles.

Combine fitness and philanthropy by being part of the Airtel Delhi Half Marathon and run for Sukarya. The marathon symbolises community spirit, transcends all barriers and provides a unique platform to contribute to a cause you espouse.
World over marathons have gained immense importance as fund-raising platforms and the Airtel Delhi Half marathon is no exception. Since its inception in the year 2005, charity has been a key pillar of the Delhi Half Marathon. The event presents the perfect opportunity to commit to a cause dear to you and join hands with like minded people who voluntarily come together to raise awareness and expand the circle of giving.
While the Airtel Delhi Half Marathon provides an ideal opportunity for you to run for a cause, it provides development agencies, NGOs and civil society to create a platform where awareness and dialogue can be generated, funds raised and champions nurtured.
For Sukarya, the Delhi Half Marathon has served as a critical resource mobilisation vehicle that brings its core issues of health, gender, social equity and justice to the public domain. Indeed, the CORPORATE CARES team category is a perfect opportunity to merge corporate social responsibility, human resource and marketing objectives. If you are interested in running for Sukarya in the Airtel Delhi Half Marathon, please contact shipra.shukla@sukarya.org
This is an opportunity for your team to engage directly with our communities. By volunteering their time, expertise and service, your employees will get a chance to see first-hand what we do and play a role in creating impact. This will also help you mobilise a special fundraising team that can support any issue, be it malnutrition, maternal and child health, immunization, sanitation and hygiene or education.
Sukarya can partner with your company through an employee fundraising campaign or payroll giving, workplace engagement, employee donation matching, and skills-based volunteering programmes, and any other.
As a company, you can encourage your employees to give generously and thereby strengthen our mission to provide basic healthcare services, educate and empower underprivileged women, children and adolescents living in the slums and villages of Delhi, Rajasthan and Haryana. This will also help us in our capacity building efforts and replicating successes in other locations. Ways in which most of Sukarya’s patrons and donors associate themselves with:
- Employees choose the causes they are passionate about, and support through payroll giving.
- Companies donate and run for Sukarya’s cause at the Airtel Delhi Half Marathon, our biggest annual fundraiser that is held at the end of the year and which is promoted extensively on social media (adding #Sukarya to the post).
- Invite employees to donate one day's pay to Sukarya during the week of Airtel Delhi Half Marathon (if they can’t participate in person) or during Sukarya’s Foundation week in October or during Daan Utsav (2 to 8 October).
- Ask employees to donate one or more days of their earned leave balance to Sukarya.
- Match employees' donations to Sukarya that week and go up to 100%.
- Encourage employees to share a giving-related story on social media on October 8, adding #Sukarya and #GivingHerAVoice to the post.
- Set up a Kindness Wall or Giving Tree at your office premises and online and invite employees to share acts of kindness to help and support any of Sukarya’s projects
