In August 2025, Sukarya’s Founder & Chairperson, Meera Satpathy, was honoured with the Times Now Amazing Indian Award 2025 in the category of Girl Child & Women’s Rights Empowerment, alongside 11 other changemakers shaping a better India.

This recognition celebrates her 27-year journey of grassroots work with women, children, and adolescent girls across underserved slums and remote villages. Through Sukarya, she has championed maternal and child health, nutrition, education, gender equality, and women’s empowerment.
The honour belongs not only to her leadership, but also to the communities Sukarya serves—every woman who found her voice, every child who found hope, and every community that continues to move forward with resilience.
